Maureen received both her undergraduate and law degree from the University of Alberta Edmonton. After a short time in private practise in Calgary, Maureen joined the Prosecutor’s Office. She initially worked in the Youth Court and then transferred to the Adult Prosecutions where she handled almost every kind of criminal case including thefts, assaults, robberies, break and enter charges, driving offences, domestic violence, and several high profile cases including stalking, torture, sexual assault and murders.
Maureen was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 2004.
Maureen has been doing defence work since 2006. She has successfully defended clients at all levels of court in Alberta. Maureen also frequently gets referrals from other lawyers to assist them. In addition, Maureen has also mentored several young lawyers as they have followed their passion into criminal law.
Maureen has been an active volunteer in the Calgary community.
